Physiology Rings

This project investigates the anatomical tolerance of the hand and the fit of an object on the body. This project consists of 3 concepts, a loose fitting ring, a tight fitting ring and a perfect fit ring; all 3D printed using the Connex multimaterial printer.

The loose ring grips onto the finger through texture of the inner surface of the ring. The density/hardness of the material allows the ring to keep an approximate circular shape to wrap onto the finger.

The tight fitting ring holds its self onto the finger through force and support, the sheer and form of the ring holds itself onto the finger tightly.

The best fit ring put simply, fits. Its beamlike structure looks hard and unmoveable, but materiality allows the ring to be compressed squeezed and stretched without breaking or damaging it.
